Epitalon in telomerase and circadian research
Epitalon was developed as a defined analogue of epithalamin, an extract of the pineal gland, so that laboratories could work with one exact molecule. With four amino acids and a mass of about 390 Da it is easy to synthesise with high purity and easy to confirm by mass spectrometry. Most published work comes from the gerontology group in St. Petersburg. The compound is supplied as lyophilised powder, stored sealed at -20 °C and reconstituted with bacteriostatic water in the laboratory. Our guide What are peptides? explains how short peptides are built and tested, and the complete range is listed under all research peptides.
All compounds on this page are research chemicals for laboratory use only. They are not medicines, supplements, foods or cosmetics and are not intended for human or veterinary use.
